Tembi Village, Sewon, Bantul
Tembi Village is located 8 km south of the Keraton. Visitors can stay here in a home stay with Javanese architecture and observe the daily life of the people, such as farming, animal husbandry, and cultural activities. Many traditional performances and art exhibitions are held regularly by villagers at Tembi Culture House.
Tanjung Village, Donoharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman
Tanjung village is located 10 km north of Jogjakarta. Visitors can enjoy Javanese hospitality while feeling the sense of living in a village and staying in a 200 years old traditional home with Javanese architecture. Activities include rice farming and duck sheperding. Visitors are invited to traditional dances such as the Angguk war dance, Pek Bung full moon dance and Jathilan mystical bamboo horse dance.
Sambi Village, Pakembinangun, Pakem, Sleman
Located 18 km north of Jogjakarta, Sambi villages lies on the slope of Mount Merapi and has an enchanting panorama. Nearby Kali Kuning camping ground is a favourite spot for teenagers. Local villagers manage some Javanese architecture homestays, art studios and out-bond activities.

This Javanese village is located 20 km north of Jogkakarta and has many things to offer to visitors: an amazing panorama of Mount Merapi's molten lava, nature conservation, bird watching, spiritual pilgrimages to Semar cave, Kedung Cuwo dam, and Sendang Pancuran Lake. Every Sapar month (Javanese calendar) villagers hold a Mertibumi village cleansing traditional ceremony.
Candirejo Village
Only 3 km south of Barobudur, it has 50 or so homestays open to visitors. Candirejo offers several tour packages, including cooking classes featuring traditional cuisines and snacks.
